Brennan won the L. Ron Hubbard Writers Of The Future Contest in 2010. The awards ceremony occurred in May of of 2011. Here are some highlights of that ceremony.
05-16-2011 – Audio Interview with Tony C. Smith for StarShipSofa.com. I love Tony’s accent. The four 1st place winners of the Writers of the Future Contest for 2010 were interviewed via Skype. Our interview appears first in the lineup. After that, here’s an interview with Amy H. Sturgis “Looking Back At Genre History” (29:00) and then a fiction piece “Eight Miles” by Sean McMullen starting at 49:50.
May 16, 2011 – The day following the Writers of the Future Awards ceremony, the four 1st place winners for 2010 were interviewed by Eytan Kollin for Neverending Panel. Eytan was a real professional and made me feel comfortable in front of the camera.
May 15, 2011 – The 27th annual Writers of the Future Awards Ceremony where every writer and illustrator is honored for winning the contest. I stand in front of over 300 people, am blinded by stage lights, forget the names of the people, in my critique group and forget to mention my sweetie’s full name starting around the 1:03:20 mark. People told me they liked my speech anyway. In addition to myself, check out illustrator M. O. Muriel who gave an amusing speech (0:58:25).
I also suggest you to watch Ryan Harvey’s portion, which starts with an interpretive dance for his story (1:16:05).
May 15, 2011 – Snippet from the 27th annual Writers of the Future Awards Ceremony. This is just the section that includes the awards for the writer and illustrator of my award-winning story, “The Truth, From a Lie of Convenience.” It was the culmination of my dream that was fulfilled in a manner that I had never imagined when my personal hero, Mike Resnick, introduced me for my award. Thanks, Mike! I’ll never forget that.
